Free Ground School
My aviation journey began in earnest about four months ago, sparked by an advertisement for a free ground school course. At first glance, I thought it might be too good to be true. However, I quickly realized it was the real deal. Looking into the program further, I discovered a familiar face: Piper, whom I had actually met back in 2022 when I first wanted to start flying. Back then, life simply got in the way.
Admittedly, I walked into my first classes with a bit too much confidence. I soon learned that there is a lot—and I mean a lot—to learn. The groundwork can be a killer, especially for an old guy like me. But I am also old enough to know that nothing worth having comes easy. The things in life that truly matter require hard work.
Aviation has always been a lifelong dream of mine. The absolute freedom and independence of stepping into a small aircraft and flying wherever you want, whenever you want, has always enthralled me. Looking back, I am actually glad I waited until now to start this chapter. I realize now that mastering this skill takes significant time, but it is one hundred percent worth it.
A massive part of that beginning success goes to the team guiding me. Spitfire Aviation is on point in every single aspect. They have built an incredible staff of support personnel and Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) who make themselves available whenever you need them. I have been absolutely blown away by the level of dedication and support I’ve been given, both on the ground and up in the air.
If you have ever dreamed of flying, I highly recommend taking this leap—but treat it strictly as a journey. Enjoy every single aspect of it. Don't rush to the finish line just to get it done quickly, or you might miss out on the wealth of the experience itself.

Attending Spitfire Ground School has given me a fantastic boost in confidence for my aviation goals. Each instructor truly cared for our learning process and reassured us how open and welcoming they were for questions or concerns inside and outside of the classroom, maintaining an open and convenient field of communication. I met a spectrum of guest speakers who all shared their diverse history and inspiring journies to where they are now in their aviation careers. We as students were given wonderful opportunities to visit and engage with currently active pilots and aviation events, giving a deeper understanding of what different roles in aviation truly do.
Spitfire has given me clear guidance and long lasting assistance that I will carry with me and rely on for my entire aviation adventure!

My interest in aviation began four years ago when I was introduced to RC planes. Since then, my goal has been to become a private pilot. The Spitfire Ground School gave me the foundation I need to make my dream come true. Everyone at the school made it a great experience with their helpful, friendly, and quality instruction. The school provided a great community of people who have a shared passion for flying. I am incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to complete this Ground School and I’m looking forward to continuing to be a part of the Spitfire and Ground School community.
