Learning to fly has been a dream sitting on a shelf for almost 20 years, and thanks to Spitfire and its amazing community, it is finally becoming my reality. The biggest challenge was not the studying or the hours, It was simply getting started. But here I am, showing up and moving toward my PPL one step at a time. The pace is slow and steady, and I am completely okay with that. Forward motion is still motion. A year ago, I could not say any of this, and that alone means so much to me.

Hey there! My name is Gage Warner, a CFI, CFII, and MEI.
I am a First generation aviator whose interest in flying was sparked by a combined love of travel, learning, and that spark happened the first time I had seen a GA plane up close in February of 2022, sitting on a frozen lake on a trip to Alaska.
I learned to fly right here in the Sacramento Valley, at the Sac Exec airport, completing my 7 certs & ratings in 11 months. I then moved to Texas for a year and a half, instructing at a large part 141 school.
I love sharing aviation and all it entails with others, in hopes of helping realize their dreams!

My passion for aviation started early—around the age of 10—when my dad first introduced me to the world of flying. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit.
Years later, in 2017, I earned my Private Pilot Certificate, followed by my A&P Certificate in 2018, deepening both my flying skills and technical understanding of aircraft.
I came to Spitfire Aviation to continue my journey, training for my Instrument and Commercial ratings. From there, I pushed even further, earning my CFI and CFII so I could share the same excitement for aviation that first inspired me years ago.
Today, I’m proud to be teaching here at Spitfire, helping the next generation of pilots take their first steps into the sky. There’s few things more rewarding than watching someone discover the freedom and thrill of flight for the very first time.

Greetings friends, aviators, and those reaching for the sky! I’d love to share the challenges, joy, freedom, and spectacular views of aviation with you, just as I’ve enjoyed them for nearly twenty years. I’ve been fortunate enough to fly aircraft to 23 states, including coast-to-coast flights, and I have a passion for teaching both new and existing pilots how to truly use their aircraft for personal travel to far-away places.
My specialties are teaching in modern, technically advanced aircraft including Cirrus and Diamond aircraft, as well as teaching real-world instrument flying that will make you confident working as a team with air traffic control. I’m a California native but have spent time living and flying on both coasts, and recently left a life-long career in the technology industry to dedicate myself to professional aviation full-time.

Airplanes were always a huge interest from a young age. When I was a teenager I remember asking my family for help in becoming a private pilot. They Unfortunately didnt think it was a great idea. Throughout my first career in Construction / development the interest to fly never faded. After finally being financially established and able to afford training I decided to get my private pilot certificate in Auburn Ca out of KAUN. Upon completing my first solo I knew that this was my passion and aviation is the field I wanted to work in. I went on to accomplish my private pilot rating here in Northern California, my instrument and commerical in prescott Arizona and my CFI in Los Angeles. I have a passion for teaching and want to help others make becoming a pilot a reality.
